For the quintessential British bar experience in Victoria Station, Boisdale is your one stop shop. Labeling itself as a Scottish whiskey and cigar bar with British cuisine and a strong French influence, Boisdale offers a myriad of sites, smells, and flavors. A wonderful Scottish dining atmosphere is available and the rich offering of hefty meat dishes could make any vegan cringe, though they do cater well to vegetarians. The restaurant is rather small and has outside seating in the garden, so if you want to assure yourself a seat, definitely make a reservation.

Travelling anywhere is very tiring. There are many reasons for this but the main one is stress. There was the time when Victoria station was one of the most important in Manchester - along with the Great Northern Railway in Deansgate. It was opened in 1844 and named Victoria after Her Majesty’s permission. The Great Northern now houses an entertainment complex, and Victoria’s wacky glamour consists of the “remains of the day”: an impressive (if somewhat obscure) war memorial, ticket offices, the Victoria Good Life shop (which seems to be shut), a cafe and a bar under the roof of the former bookstall, and tiled and rather dim interior. The elaborate green canopy lists the names of popular 19th century destinations, including Blackpool, London, and even Belgium.

The station is very similar to the station that used to exist in Blackpool. Sadly, the memories of the bygone days haunt the room of disrepair and decline. There are 6 platforms in the station, and these days Victoria is connected with the MEN Arena: you can get to the Arena either from within the station, by following the stairs, or from the street. Like Piccadilly, Victoria is a stop on the metrolink route, no. 2 bus goes past it towards Shudehill or Deansgate, and the station is served by a small taxi rank. There are only two traffic lines, so on certain days or at certain hours the Station Approach gets extremely busy. Instead of having to navigate your fatigued body home on the public transport system you can just leap into the car and drive yourself home. London Victoria Station is the second busiest station in London (after Waterloo Station) and is a station that is rich in history. All of these people who are catching a train from the station need to get there and whilst some people obviously arrive on another train, the vast majority either walk or use a car, with the latter option being the most popular (many people who catch a train come from an area of London that is too far to walk). Manchester has two railway stations; Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly. This means that the only available option is to drive and park at the station.
