First of all, I want to say that I didn’t have a bad childhood. When people talk about wanting to give their children a better life than they had, people naturally assume that they must have had a terrible childhood. While this is true in some cases, in my specific case, it is not true. The reason I say this is because I don’t feel like my childhood was as fulfilling as it could have been. My parents always struggled financially, so I was left to fend for myself in most situations. Fortunately, my personality thrived on this type of challenge, and I used it to make the most of myself.

Now that I am in a position to give my kids a great childhood experience, my main goal is exposing them to the size of the world and all of the different kinds of people that exist throughout it. I don’t ever want my kids to forget that there are billions of people living in other places than the location my kids call home. For my most recent trip with my children, I decided to take them to London for the first time, which is a city that I have always admired and enjoyed spending time in.

Last year, I took my first trip to London. Because it was my first time to visit the city of London, I was worried that I was going to run into some problems or obstacles during my time there. Fortunately, because I was nervous about the possibility of this happening, I went out of my way to get prepared for this trip. I started by reading several travel books specifically about London, and since all of them recommended making travel reservations ahead of time, that’s exactly what I ended up doing.

Prior to my trip, several of my friends made fun of me for worrying so much and making all of my arrangements ahead of time. That said that all those preparations weren’t necessary, but I decided to ignore them and listen to the advice given by the experts who wrote the travel books. I’m very glad I did this, because all of my preparations paid off when I arrived in London. I ended up having a wonderful trip, and I didn’t run into any problems. For example, when I arrived at Victoria Station, I noticed plenty of tourists scrambling around to get a car hire, but I was able to calmly pick mine up in a matter of minutes thanks to the advance reservation I had made.
