In Manchester, there are 2 large train stations; Manchester Piccadilly station and Manchester Victoria station. Manchester Victoria is over 160 years old and is therefore one of the oldest train stations in the country. The popularity of the station has increased dramatically over the last few years; up from 0.5 million in 2004 to 5.5 million in 2008 and it is now no longer seen as the secondary station to Piccadilly. With 6 platforms, the station has many trains leaving every hour to places such as Leeds, Birmingham and Doncaster and is a hub of activity every day as a central base for many people to head off to work.

With so many people using the station, there is a very high probability of a relatively high proportion of them are likely to drive their cars to the airport and park. The benefits to this are numerous – you are less likely to be late for your train because you are completely in control of your journey (which will obviously reduce the amount of stress that you have in the build up to your journey) and they are incredibly important for when you return home after your trip. Instead of having to navigate your fatigued body home on the public transport system you can just leap into the car and drive yourself home. The car park is very cheap to use the day so there are no fears about being out of pocket resulting in the car park being by far the best option!
